Paxton, K.

Post by Paxton, K »

Name: Kristina “KPax” Amelia Paxton
Sex: Female
Age: 28
Date of Birth: 15 May 2215
Race: Caucasian
Height: 5’6”
Weight: 147
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Black
Medical Record: Shelfish/Iodine

Physical Appearance: Standing the average height for a female, Paxton is not short nor is she the tallest medic you will come across. With a head of wavy, raven wing locks which she attempts to tame with as much hair gel as possible when pulled back in the professional, if not eyebrow lifting bun at the back of her head. During her off time, the hair falls between the shoulder blades with an unruly wave bounce to it. Thanks to her parents, she has been blessed a set of green eyes that to many seem to be hiding a laugh just out of reach. As for the rest of her, she maintains a pretty strict diet and physical training regimen to help her maintain an athletic motif and so she can drag a man twice her size from danger during a combat situation.

Personality: Paxton is pretty laid back even though, she has learned through her many years as a Marine and a combat medic that she cannot stand, i.e. injury due to idiocy. Even with the laid back demeanor and the ire that stupidity brings to her. She is a focused medic and caretaker of her fellow Marines. She is a willing listener for all that woes her fellow Marines and will offer advice when it is sought. When she is in a stressful, combat situation she will narrow the blinders as it were. Injured come first when she is in medic mode. She has no problem jumping down someone’s throat if they get in her way of doing her job. On her left wrist she wears a small rosary bracelet as well as a large banded watch, the watch face placed on her inner wrist.

Background: Kristina Amelia Paxton was born into a military family. Both of her parents were Marine pilots who didn’t let the fact that they had four children get in their way of serving. In away, growing up bounced around from space station to military posting on some planet as human territory expanded into the great vastness of space came to be something she grew to hate. Spending most of her life being the new kid, Kris, her fraternal twin Aiden and two older brothers Michael and Joel became very tight knit.

When Kris was in high school, she and her brother were the terrors. In her senior year, she and Aiden thought it would be a great prank to blow up the Barrows Senior High on the Olympus Military Base chemistry lab. However the school authorities did not see it that way and both Kris and Adrian were expelled. Col. and Lt. Col. Paxton were not pleased with their youngest children’s prank and shipped them off to their grandmother’s in Ohio to finish their education. After being transplanted back to Earth the Kris and Aiden their behavior shaped up and they both graduated within the top ten percentile of their senior class. They were both accepted into Ohio State University, Kris and Aiden grew apart as their classes in university drew them to separate paths. Kris went through the Pre Med program. After graduation, Kris took it upon herself to follow her parents, her older brothers Michael and Joel into the Colonial Marines. However, unlike her older brothers she refused a commission instead wanting to work her way through the ranks as a grunt. Her decision to do this was not received well by her parents or her elder brothers. Aiden stuck by her decision and entered the service with her. He chose to go infantry as an officer while she went the route to become a medic.

The first four years of her career were pretty rough. Kris was not use to being without her brother by her side. However, as a medic, her abilities shone through her actions and the thanks from the many marines she treated as a flight medic in a company that was fairly active in the one of the most hostile colonial uprising in the history of the Colonial Marines. Two years ago orders came down from HR and she found herself strapped to a Hospital Ship where life generally slowed down to the same boring every day mundane crap of being strapped in to a place where the routine would grind down anyone’s sanity. Kris came down on orders for B Company six month after she re-upped for another six years pushing her well over the decade mark and received the rank of Corporal. Now she holds the position of Platoon Medic though she doesn’t let that go to her head.

Example Post:
Wiping her arm across her forehead and left ear before returning the comm set back in place. The heat in the back of the drop ship was nearly as unbearable as the heat outside it. The thick jungle air of LV-215J stunk of decay and other unpleasant musky scents on top of the oppressive humidity. Checking equipment, making sure it was strapped in, she gave a single curt nod to the scruffy crew chief.

“We’re green back here for spool up.” Cpl Saliarri barked into his headset. Wincing a little from the proximity feedback in her earpiece, Paxton pulled the earpiece away enough to press her ear to stop the ringing. She made a mental note as she pushed herself into a crew seat along the bulkhead of the drop ship buckling herself in to get with the comm-tech to look into her head set.

“If ops is right, we’re heading into a warm LZ with the possibilities of hostiles.” Paxton informed the pilots with a steady voice. Several of the crew chiefs were kind of perplexed when it came to her calm demeanor when in a stressful situation. But after seeing her work they came to understand.

“Roger, Pax did you happen to get a grid or are we just going to fly blindly around until someone flags us down for a ride.” A gruffy voice returned over the comm system from Lt. Walters.

“Victor Echo Two won niner fower six eight niner two tree. And you really shouldn’t be pickin’ up hitchhikers Wally. Didn’t your mother ever tell you that?” Paxton chuckled lightly as she readied her Medpal for incoming patient information.

“Roger, Victor Echo two won niner fower six eight niner two tree. Good Copy.” Wally’s voice faded away as he began communicating with the ATC tower for a vector and priority clearance for take off.

“Here we go again.” Sal stated with a chuckle as the aircraft rumbled as the engines came to full power. The teeth-jarring take off took only a few moments, but it was enough to let anyone know that they were off the ground. Turning to her left Pax peered throw a small porthole and watched as the strip of tarmac that they had just been on shrank away as they gained altitude.

“What we lookin’ at boss.” A sharp, female voice crackled over the comms in Kris’ ear. Using the tip of her finger to scroll down the information already gathered from the servers on the MacNamara, Pax read over the 9-line.

“We’re looking four ambulatory, two liter. Two on liters are looking at urgent surgical. There of the four ambulatory are looking at dehydration. Damn, man, why don’t these fuckers drink water?” Pax’s ire was piqued with reading about the dehydration. The radio squelched as it began picking up the chatter on the ground.

“Rogue Two fower, this is Dust-off Fower-Tree-Eight, How copy?” Pax jumped into the communication fray. The squelch paused for a moment before a frantic voice from the other end of the radio acknowledge the transmission.

“Dust-Off Fower-Tree-Eight, Rogue Two-fower. We have your visual. Keep right of the tree line when you make your approach.” The voice seemed like it was shouting over gunfire.

“Roger, Uncle Wally you got that?” Pax switched over to interior comms as she unbuckled her restraints and began to move around the rear compartment of the dropship pulling down the two litters from the wall readying them for dispatch before she began setting up IVs ready to push for the idiots with dehydration. The drop ship banked to the right, Pax held on to the overhead rack to keep her balance. Once the drop ship balanced out for a vertical landing did Pax let go of the rack.

“Yep, we’re skids down lets us know when our traveling companions are on.” Wally returned over the comms as Dominic dropped the ramp.
