The End of an Era...Job--Job--Just Job (Radley Gets Deep)

It must be said: The Navy and I are no longer compatible. We're going in different directions. I see a future and the Navy isn't in that future. Awesome.

It's time for things to change.

My wife and I and our numerous pets are looking at moving back to New Orleans from God awful Bremerton, WA. May it burn in nuclear fire. I don't think I told you that we moved up here. No one comes here, anymore. We've been stuck in this shit stain of a town since last December. Long story short, I was in a warehouse this entire time, hoping never to be spotted living the Navy life. And here I am, having done so.

I shove off to the "real world" of college. Then, with a bachelors in Nursing, I'll be working an ICU. And if I survive the experience, I'll be moving to Baton Rogue for my masters. GI Bill, don't fail me now. I think back on the last four years and realize that you people--those who are here and not here--you people have been with me since I was a junior in high school. You have been in my life 8 years. Congrats. And I want to thank you, all of you.

This is Radley Gets Deep. Thanks for reading.

Good on you for getting things going. I'm only just now able to get my own college machinations working, so hopefully I can catch up. Also:

"Thank you, kindly, sir," said the free, ex-sailor.

That's quite a change of plans. :P Seriously, though, best of luck to you, dude. Here's hoping the GI bill doesn't fail you.

Anything in particular that changed your mind? Last I heard you'd decided on diving or underwater basketry or something.

I got fucked out of the basketry. Medical (the lab in particular) took too long to get certain blood tests back to me. Twice. When I had to redo the medical portion a third time, I threw my hands up and said, "Fuck this." But, thanks man. Much appreciated.
